So we had a huge task ahead of ourselves. P and his friends did the demo and our contractor Foster Construction worked for three straight weeks to get us up and running in the kitchen.
Here's the beautiful after!
I decided to go with white cabinets to brighten up the space. I love the clean lines of the cabinets and a clean color just made more sense to modernize this house. We were quoted about 10K at several places that provided laminate cabinets. Our contractor recommended a great place so we decided to go ahead with cabinets that were wood and cost HALF the price of everywhere else!
The backsplash was a splurge since we love the Ann Sacks colors but since we didn't have Ann Sacks money we found a beautiful color from Lowe's! The countertops are quartz in the color "vanilla dream."
The farmhouse sink and chrome faucet were a must. The butcher block was delivered from Costa Mesa (thanks Jason!!) and will eventually be sealed with Waterlox.
Wine fridge was a must. Love that it sits in the island which is ALL storage space.
I'll post some updated pics once the hardware and new lighting are installed.
So we survived, we didn't kill each other and if the rapture comes tomorrow at least I will die in a beautiful kitchen. I have to admit, I LOVE THIS SPACE!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitchen. We will be remodeling our kitchen come Fall. Where are the quartz countertops from? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteTiffany, you did a wonderful job! I'm so excited for you! How nice baking cupcakes in that pretty kitchen will feel! QUESTIONS: Did you do the floors yourself? We're getting quotes for our floors now and it's sooo pricey. Is flooring that you got a very good product, meaning would you recommend it? Thanks & Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitchen! I'm remodeling our kitchen this month and looking for a farmhouse sink with an 8"-9" depth. I think the sink that you posted will fit well with our kitchen. If you don't mind, can you tell me the name or model so I can look up in CSN.com. Thank you so much!!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful kitchen! Mine's next ...hehehe
ReplyDeleteWow! Really great transformation. I just found your blog and I'm following! I especially love the quartz countertops-that's something I'd like to add to my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteMichele- We installed the flooring ourselves and really like it. It shows dust easily so we keep swiffers handy.
I updated the source list with direct links to the products we used. Hope that helps!
Thank you for the response Tiffany :)
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me so much I'm beside myself with questions, for example, was the flooring hard to put down yourself? It seems like such a hard job:(
And lastly, please give details about that Ikea countertop! I've been looking at it for over a year now, but hear so many mixed reviews about. My island is larger than what the pieces come in so they've told me I'd have to have two pieces "butted" together :( Is it ever easy -__-
My husband put down the flooring with some help from friends and he says it wasn't hard just tedious. It's the type of flooring that is tongue and groove, you have to glue the pieces together.
ReplyDeleteOur contractor cut and installed the butcher block. We used the largest they had that fit on top of the island cabinets and wine fridge. So far it's held up very well and we have plans to seal it later this month.
I don't know how I missed this! Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteDo you have hardwood outside the kitchen?
you did a phenomenal job! it looks amazing.
